July 15, 2008 · No Comments

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with forward Dan Fritsche, a restricted free agent who was acquired with Nikolai Zherdev in a trade with Columbus earlier this month.

Fritsche appeared in 69 games with the Blue Jackets last season, posting 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points. He has notched 29 goals and 34 assists for 63 points in 206 NHL games.

The terms of the deal were undisclosed but the Rangers still are most likey going to make some more moves to free up space. A lot of Rangers fans believe that Petr Prucha and his $1.5M cap hit is on the block. The Rangers freed up a little bit of space by trading away Hollweg yesterday, but it’s almost an insignificant amount.
